Positive Rate Of Change Alarm

DESCRIPTION

  1. The USC701 has a 0.2 – 1.0Vdc input and two alarm outputs.
  2. The input signal represents a 0 -10m level of water.
  3. Each alarm has a user set trip point with ON and OFF delays. These delay times are user adjustable and are nominally 10 minutes.
  4. An alarm will trip (N/O contact will close) if the rate of rise of the input exceeds a set level for the ON delay time.
  5. Nominal values for the set level are;
  • First USC701 RLY1 0.3m/hr
  • First USC701 RLY2 0.8m/hr
  • Second USC701 RLY1 1.25m/hr
  • Second USC701 RLY2 1.5m/hr.

6.The relay contact will open if the rate of rise of the input is no longer exceeded for the OFF delay time.

7.The trip values and delay times can be adjusted using either the COA703 or the AM702.

AM702 Display & Trimming:

1.The USC701 must have its front panel Selector Switch set to ‘0’ before the AM702 is positioned.

2.Press ‘ENTER’ key to enter ‘trim menu’ to change relay set points, relay delays and the filter time on the input currently set at 2 minutes.

3.In RUN mode, to display;

  • Input press “UP” button.
  • Filtered input press “DOWN” button
  • Rate of change in m / hr press “BACK” button.

Notes

To test this application another USC701 is required using the supplied program “generator.usc”. The unit under test fitted with UAP1087 must have its input rescaled to 0 - 20 volts = 0 - 10 m / h to reduce switching errors in the D to A converter or the generator.
